“Ride Lonesome” – Beck featuring Sierra Ferrell

Beck’s new single “Ride Lonesome” leans into a quiet, drifting Americana sound that feels easy and unforced. The addition of West Virginia native Sierra Ferrell gives the track a natural warmth.
Together, Beck and Ferrell create something that feels simple, steady, and grounded. The song moves with an unhurried confidence, and Ferrell’s voice helps anchor it in a way that feels both modern and rooted in tradition. It is a collaboration that works because neither artist tries too hard. They just let the song breathe.

“Plans” – Brandon Flowers featuring Charlie McCoy

With “Plans,” Brandon Flowers steps into Country Western with a straightforward approach. The production is clean, the storytelling is direct, and the arrangement avoids any big stylistic swings. The harmonica from Charlie McCoy, the West Virginia legend, adds an easy authenticity that fits the song’s tone without calling attention to itself.
McCoy’s playing gives the track a gentle sense of movement, and Flowers keeps his vocal performance relaxed and unembellished. The result is a song that feels comfortable in its new genre lane. “Plans” shows Flowers trying something different and doing it with respect for the musicians who shaped the sound, including one who comes straight from the Mountain State. Stay tuned for the full length album “Thrasher” set to drop August 21, 2026 to hear more of Charlie’s harmonica.
