CLARKSBURG, WV: The Mtn Craft Film Festival is set to light up the screen at The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center (444 W Pike St., Clarksburg, WV 26301) for four days of independent cinema, professional development workshops, and celebration of Appalachian film making. The festival runs from Thursday, October 2, through Sunday, October 5, 2025.

The four-day event is packed with activities across the venue’s Main Stage/Theatre, Ballroom, and Education Center. The festival kicks off on Thursday evening with a Red Carpet Premiere ($15 at the door only for the premiere). The schedule continues with numerous Short Film Blocks showcasing diverse and compelling works from filmmakers across the region and beyond.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with industry professionals through several focused workshops, including “Social Media Trends, Film, & Beyond,” “Improv On-Camera,” “Brand Storytelling,” and “Practical Effects.” A special emphasis is placed on regional narratives with the workshop, “Telling Stories in Rural Communities” with Roger May of Appalshop, followed by “An Appalshop Afternoon” featuring screenings and a Q&A.
Feature film highlights include “Small Town Universe” and “This Is Pike County” on Friday and “Battersea” on Saturday, all followed by Q&A sessions. The festival culminates on Saturday night with the Awards Ceremony followed by an After Party in the Ballroom. Sunday wraps up with a Filmmaker Brunch sponsored by the WV Filmmakers Guild and the WV Heritage Block of films by Jacob Young. The full schedule can be found here.
