HUNTINGTON, WV – Funktafest is set to return for its ninth annual installment, Funktafest 9: “The Funk Awakens,” transforming The Ritter Park Amphitheater into a cosmic sanctuary of rhythm, art, and community. The two-day celebration of funk, jam, rock, and soul music will take place on Friday, October 3, and Saturday, October 4, 2025.
The festival is dedicated to showcasing the vibrant “groove” music scene of West Virginia and the greater Tri-State area. Headlining this year’s intergalactic journey are the Chicago-based funk powerhouse Sneezy and the electrifying soulful rock group Joslyn & The Sweet Compression. They will be joined by regional favorites, including the award-winning guitarist Jeremy Short and talented acts like The M.F.B., Massing, Joey Aich, Chocolate 4-Wheeler, Blue Heron, and more across both days, promising non-stop, high-energy performances.
More than just a concert, Funktafest is an immersive experience full of “Funktivities” for all ages. Attendees can look forward to the return of the Funky Kidz Korner (Saturday only), daily FunkYoga sessions, and an Arts & Crafts Village featuring local makers. The grounds will also host live painting, fire and flow artists, craft beer and food vendors, a Silent Disco Area (Saturday only), and a quirky round of Funky Disc Golf nestled in the park’s scenic landscape.
