Sierra Ferrell took on a familiar hit with the help of Nikki Lane. Previously the cover of “A Lesson In Leavin’” was only available on Amazon but recently hit all streaming platforms. The song which was originally recorded by Dottie West and became a huge hit for Jo Dee Messina when she recorded it in 1998 but entitled the song “Lesson In Leavin.” Ferrell chose to replace the “A” on her version that shows her and Lane blend with perfect harmonies that set this version apart. Listen to it below.

The Grey Agents released “Ten Days” on July 18th. The piano driven track is about the heartbreak of a relationship ending and the way that losing someone can plague your thoughts and only hope of finding someone as special and lovely as they were to you. The talent in this band is off the charts with some of the best musicians in the state combining to make some great rock and roll. Listen to “Ten Days” below.

Sequoia Rose released “Cold Hard Truth.” There are some changes you don’t recover from and losing the greatest love of your life is one of them. And it’s a truth that doesn’t change no matter what you do to get your mind off of it. Rose did a great job of laying those emotions bare and talking about a truth no one ever wants to confront. Listen below.

West Virginia Music Hall Of Fame inductee, Michael W. Smith seems to have moved back into making pop hits, compared to his output of mostly worship music that he’s become synonymous with during the 2000’s. And for longtime fans it’s a welcome return to form. His newest track “Your Love Is A Flood” feels like if he was making some of his greatest pop efforts from the 80s and 90s with a 2025 perspective and it sounds great.
