Princeton, WV – Celebrate Princeton Street Fair returns to the Mercer Street Grassroots District of downtown Princeton on Saturday, June 14th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.. The event will feature a full roster of live music, special activites and over 100 vendors featuring everything from funnel cakes to fine woodworking to tie-dye and all points in between. There will be a ferris wheel, waterslides, bounce houses, put put golf, and crafts. Grassroots District merchants will host special activities and sales; Hammer & Stain will offer a special Open Studio Day, The Emporium will feature an outdoor track, and Stages Music School will feature student performances at The Fountain Stage.

Mercer Street Businesses like The Hatter’s Bookshop, Mercer Street Bicycle Co-Op, Boc-Hord Brewery, Jimmies Restaurant, 80s Toys of Princeton and dozens of others will be open, and local businesses like The Gaia Den, Rainbow Art Farms and dozens of organizations like Princeton Historical Society and Community Connections will be on hand lining the streets with their vending tents. Organizers encourage photography enthusiasts to get a birds eye view of downtown atop the ferris wheel!

The Town Square stage will be hosted by Doc Atwell. Fluidity Circus Troupe will perform 2 separate shows in front of The Renaissance Theater. They will also entertain on stilts and bubbles, and meet & greet with the audience. Live music performances on 2 stages — Dick Copeland Town Square and The Fountain Stage — include Grace Campbell, Allen Smith Band, Stone & Snow, The Gardeners, Emma Shirey, Jon Bolt, James Hart, Miles Munique, and more. Princeton Public Library will feature a variety of creative activities inside the library and outdoors in their parking lot, including a Friends of the Library book sale. Vendors will sell items and services from jumbo pretzels and snow cones to essential oils and massage to fine art, crafts and face painting. Downtown businesses will be open and guests are encouraged to explore and patronize them.

Organizer Lori McKinney says, “We’re so grateful to gather once again and celebrate our community together! Mercer Street continues to blossom; we’re excited to show the community all that’s new in our neighborhood!”  

The event is presented by RiffRaff Arts Collective, with support from The City of Princeton, WVU Medicine/Princeton Community Hospital, Optimum, Princeton Rescue Squad, Southern Highlands, and USA Martial Arts. The ferris wheel is free to ride, brought to you by Xfinity and The City of Princeton. Organizers send special thanks to the Public Works Department, Princeton PD & Fire Departments, Princeton Public Library and downtown businesses for their support and cooperation.
