Although it was full of gusty winds, an absolutely great day was had at WVPubfest, held on May 17th at Weathered Ground Brewery in Cool Ridge, WV! This annual concert and fundraiser for WV Public Broadcasting was a resounding success, offering a superb blend of incredible music, a vibrant atmosphere, and the satisfaction of supporting a vital community resource.
Weathered Ground Brewery proved to be the ideal host, with its beautiful setting providing the perfect backdrop for a day of music and community. The organization of WVPubfest was top-notch; despite a great crowd, the flow of the event was smooth, and there was ample space to relax and enjoy the performances.
The lineup offered a fantastic variety of sounds, keeping the energy high and the audience thoroughly entertained throughout the day. The sounds were diverse featuring funk from The Heavy Hitters and Space Freq, folk rockers Alabaster Boxer and Hello June, country from Nathan Bess and Andrew Adkins, alt rock from Last Year’s Model, Never Zero, Emmalea Deal & The Hot Mess, and Matt Deal, WV legends The Carpenter Ants and punk rockers Rockwell’s Ghost to name a few.
Beyond the captivating performances, the entire event radiated a positive and community-focused energy. Attendees enjoyed delicious food and beer options, and the general camaraderie among everyone present was palpable.
Knowing that every ticket and contribution directly supports WV Public Broadcasting made the experience even more meaningful. It’s truly inspiring to see so many come together to ensure that critical public programming continues to thrive in West Virginia.
