Charles Wesley Godwin released a seven track EP entitled “Lonely Mountain Town.” Godwin picked up right where he left off with 2023’s “Family Ties.” Where is it that he left off? Making amazing songs with fantastic storytelling. This EP sees him partner for duets with Ernest and Scott Avett of The Avett Brothers. It also had him partnering with his long term songwriting collaborator Zach McCord of McCord House Recordings. Check out the song they cowrote, “She Don’t Love Me Anymore” below.
ligature. is a new band out of Huntington that is quickly gathering attention across the music scene of West Virginia with their first single “Breathe.” This song is an ethereal trip through some dirty shoegaze that will have you hooked. Lead singer Em delivers vocals that are hauntingly powerful. We can’t wait to see what they do next. Check out “Breathe” below.
Soda Pop Gypsies have released another original entitled “Shadows.” “Shadows,” the newest release from The Soda Pop Gypsies is a rock/funk fusion. The bass line drives the rhythm and adds a distinctive flair to the overall sound. The thick guitars, catchy melody, and a rocking drum beat keeps listeners hooked from start to finish. As The Soda Pop Gypsies continue to evolve their unique sound this release is sure to leave a lasting impression. Listen below.
A Blue Shell Paradox put out a cover of Vanessa Carlton’s 2002 hit “A Thousand Miles.” Their take on it is guitar focused and a throwback to the Pop Goes Punk era. The mix here is fantastic and shows off the immense talent of these Beckley based alt rockers. Check it out below.
Lauren Winans released a new single entitled “The Loser.” This piano driven love ballad talks about fighting feelings and eventually succumbing to those feelings and in a sense losing the battle. But we are all winners when Lauren puts out new music. Listen to “The Loser” below.
