Huntington based band, Boulevard Avenue, has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a West vinyl release of Virginia themed album they recorded 10 years ago.
From the Kickstarter:
Like the gentle rise of biscuits from the bottom of the pan, the idea to create an entire album of songs about the flour-based breakfast staple had been baking in Parry Casto’s brain for years before the reality of bringing it to the table was a possibility. With the support of Alex McCoy, his musical partner-in-crime who has been in several successful bands in Huntington, WV, Parry’s half-baked dream would begin to become a reality in November 2013. The then-neighbors combined forces to become Boulevard Avenue (coincidentally, Boulevard Avenue is a street name a few blocks away from the two in Huntington, WV) and penned their first song, a pop-rock ballad titled “Mary, Mary,” as the first step in whipping up a whole batch of songs for their yet-to-be-titled concept album, which would be eventually be titled “Biscuits As Usual.”

There is a power house of contributors that help to make these biscuits rise.
The talented WV musicians that graciously lent a hand in making the record include Randy Gilkey and Rob Gross of The Boatmen, vocalist Brittany Franklin of Pop Friction, vocalist Sasha Colette of Sasha Colette and the Magnolias, James Barker of Deadbeats and Barkers fame and most recently, the lead / pedal steel guitar player for Grammy-nominated Tyler Childers‘ touring band, Travis Riffle and Brett Def of Tweed Jacket and most recently, the latter as solo artist Blue Heron, Brad Kinder, drummer for WV bands like Dinosaur Burps, The Yetti, Blistered Nifkin, and The M.F.B., Molly Page of Tyler Childers and The Foodstamps, Sean Kinder of Blistered Nifkin and Low Seam, and virtuoso harmonica extraordinaire and Grand Ole Opry alum Allan Hatten.
