The Born & Bred Concert Series was created by Brendan Gallagher and debuted as a music festival in Grafton, WV. In its new concert series form, The Robinson Grand will be producing multiple shows a year featuring talented musicians and performing artists that have been shaped by the Mountain State. The November 16th show will be the first with the founder hosting the show. The 7th edition of The Born & Bred Concert Series at The Robinson Grand features Alabaster Boxer, Kindred Valley and The Moon My Twin

Hailing from the heart of West Virginia, Alabaster Boxer is a genre-defying musical collective that weaves together a tapestry of rock, pop, bluegrass, and Americana influences. Formed in late 2022, this ensemble of seasoned musicians has quickly garnered attention for their captivating performances and intricate arrangements. Led by Nick Durm, the band seamlessly blends soaring harmonies, dynamic instrumentation, and introspective lyrics to create a sound that is both familiar and innovative.

Their debut album, “Currency of Dreams,” showcases their musical prowess and serves as a testament to the vibrant musical landscape of West Virginia. Having just played a headlining spot at Healing Appalachia, Alabaster Boxer is a band on the rise, ready to captivate audiences with their unique blend of musical styles and undeniable passion. Coming off the release of their live album, “Live At The Raleigh” Alabaster Boxer is ready to take over the stage at The Robinson Grand and put on a show you won’t forget.

Hailing from Huntington, West Virginia, Kindred Valley is an indie-folk band whose music is as rich and inviting as the Appalachian mountains that surround them. Formed in 2020 when three friends with a shared passion for music met at Marshall University, the band quickly blossomed into a six-piece ensemble known for their tight harmonies, heartfelt lyrics, and infectious energy.

Their self-titled debut album, released in 2022, is a testament to their growth and dedication. Tracks like “Shine On” and “The River” showcase their ability to craft songs that are both deeply personal and universally relatable. Their newest release “What Was Left”  continues that trend and has cemented their reputation in the world of West Virginia music. With their captivating live shows and ever-growing fanbase, Kindred Valley is poised to become a beloved voice in the indie-folk scene for years to come.

Emerging from the misty mountains of West Virginia, The Moon My Twin is a band that defies easy categorization. Their sound is a dark and mesmerizing blend of gothic rock, Appalachian folk, and experimental soundscapes.  Formed in the small town of Thomas, the band’s music evokes the rugged beauty and hidden mysteries of their homeland.

The Moon My Twin’s origin story is one of connections and shared passions.  E. May, Chris, and Chuck, each with distinct musical backgrounds, found themselves drawn together by a mutual respect for songwriting and a desire to push boundaries. E. May’s powerful vocals, Chris’s distinctive guitar work, and Chuck’s dynamic drumming combine to create a sound that is both haunting and exhilarating.

Their music explores themes of love, loss, and the darker side of human nature. Songs like “Possession” and “Hope” showcase their ability to craft evocative narratives and melodies that linger long after the music fades. With their captivating live performances and growing discography, The Moon My Twin is carving out a unique space in the rock music landscape. They are a band to watch for anyone seeking music that is both visceral and thought-provoking.

The Born & Bred Concert Series also features a pre-show performance from The Robinson Grand house band, The 39 Fire. “We continue to be amazed at the response to these shows and the amazing talent that is all over this beautiful state” – Brendan Gallagher
