CHARLESTON, WV (August 26, 2024) – The city of Charleston gets ready to rock for Risers Fest, its newest and most anticipated music festival coming to stages across 20 venues around downtown from October 10th to 13th.

Charleston, WV

Spearheaded in collaboration with radio station WTSQ, Risers Fest is an energetic platform boasting the next generation of rising domestic and international musicians and tastemakers in alternative culture.

The first of its kind in the region, the multi-day festival strategically brings alternative artists to West Virginia, convening in a centralized crossroads where the creatively resilient cultures of the midwest, north and southeast meet.

Amplified with a diverse lineup of over 70+ established and emerging artists, with the likes of Breezy Supreme (Washington D.C.), Mint Field (Mexico City) and Lung (Cincinnati, OH) among the ranks, the city will bustle with eclectic alternative sounds spanning experimental rock, shoegaze, dreampop, punk, and beyond.

“We are incredibly excited to launch Risers Fest in Charleston,” exclaims Mya, program director of WTSQ. “Our city has a vibrant music scene, and this festival is a celebration of that. We’ve partnered with some amazing venues to create an immersive experience for music lovers of all tastes.”

The festival kicks off with a special film screening of “Salad Days” and appearance by filmmaker Scott Crawford at Marquee Cinemas on Thursday, October 10th, followed by a three-day weekend of nonstop music discovery around Charleston’s most iconic music venues, including Capitol Theater, Folklore Music Exchange, Snack Institute and more.

Free to attend, more information about the festival, lineup and ticketing details for select venues can be found at www.risersfest.com.
