Soulful country artist Roger Richards has a penchant to make you feel an emotion or two with just his voice. Couple that with his storytelling and you’ll be in your feels real fast. That’s even true on a stripped down acoustic song like he released this week. That’s Ok seems to be Roger, an acoustic and maybe one other guitar in a room just singing this emotionally heavy track. Lauren Winans continues to release singles from her recording session with Mon Hills Records in Morgantown. This new track Meet Up Spot takes the listener on a tale of romance that shouldn’t have been but couldn’t be resisted. And all of it happens at a meet up location that holds the ups and downs of the love story that has an uncertain ending. The Holler Hounds have become a band that we get excited to hear what’s next when they release a new track. They are unique in what they do and aren’t afraid to push the boundaries of what’s expected when you label yourself as a country band. They’re definitely country artists but emphasis on the artists part. This new track, Take Your Shot has the bands drawing on a sound that appears to have been dredged up from a swamp in the Louisiana bayou.
