Monstalung has released “An Appalachian Hip Hop Story Pt. 1. This full length rap album talks about struggles that many West Virginians will relate to. From subjects like the economy to issues of race this album narrates what life is like for blacks and whites alike in the state. Tracks like Free My Melanin (featuring Danielle Walker) highlight experiences that are unique to the black community in the hills of West Virginia. Definitely take time to explore this album and really hear what is being said. Check out Coexist below.
Ducain has released their unique take on the 1970 James Taylor classic Fire And Rain. This southern rock take on the classic changes up the melody to create something that sounds new and familiar. This is what it would’ve sounded like had Lynyrd Skynyrd had written this song in 2024 instead of Taylor. Listen below.
Trevor Cooke has released “Ego: A Live Album Performance” which was recorded earlier at The Encore in Morgantown. The album is available for purchase from his Bandcamp. Check it out and purchase it today and stay tuned for our interview with him dropping on Monday.
Bottle & Bride have released Brighter (Redux) which sees them revisiting their 2022 song with a new mix and approach that turns the original into a radio ready rocker. Check it out everywhere you stream.
Auric Echoes has released another single, Body Song ahead of their full length album dropping on July 12. The alternative rockers crafted a track that would be at place amongst some of the great alt rock bands of the mid 90s. The mix is great and the track will take you on a musical journey that will make you wonder what year you landed in. The track slides seamlessly into the previously released Crash. Listen below.
