Alt Rockers Mediogres have released a full length album entitled “How Long Do We Have To Stick Around This Hen House?” to their bandcamp with the single River Day being available on all streaming platforms. The album is a must listen for fans of 90s alt rock. The production here from Big River Media out of Dunbar captured the essence of so many of the albums being made in the grunge era. The guitar tones remind us of work by James Iha and Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins and Joey Santiago of The Pixies.
Some standout tracks on this album are Electric Sex, River Day and Evening Essentials which features a guest spot from B. Rude of Dinosaur Burps. This album is one you’re going to have to spend some time with and really just dig in. Drag out your old lava lamp and black lights and turn it up loud. We asked Mediogres about the album and which song stands out to them and they collectively agree me that the lead track Hushpuppy is their favorite. We tend to agree.
What was special about this album for Mediogres? “We dedicate this album to our lost friend, Sadie. The songs are just one part of an entire art piece/music based film that we made. The movie tells the real story.” Watch the trailer below.
