Last night the whole country got a taste of what so many West Virginians already know, Charles Wesley Godwin is a force to be reckoned with and he wears his home state proudly on his sleeve.
Godwin accompanied by his talented backing band The Allegheny High took the stage of Jimmy Kimmel Live and when we say took the stage, we mean they now own it and anyone that steps on it from here on out had better bring their best. Charles is the second West Virginian in the last month to take his talents to Hollywood to perform on the nightly talk show. Both Sierra Ferrell and CWG were featured on the Hunger Games prequel’s soundtrack and have now appeared on the show. And both made the state proud.
Charles Wesley Godwin’s performance of his song Cue Country Roads was a perfect display of what you’re going to get at his show. It’s country but it’s going to rock. Godwin’s performance was set to images of his home state on a backdrop that ended with The New River Gorge Bridge positioned directly behind the band.
