Yesterday we had the privilege of announcing Philip Bowen as our headliner for our March 23rd Born & Bred Concert Series. Today we have the pleasure to listen to new music from him. Phillip released a new single entitled Dogwoods. Anytime Bowen releases a new song, we get excited to hear what story he’s going to be telling. His ability to weave narratives around an object or a place, like a river, are top tier and that’s on full display as he uses a dogwood tree to talk about his love of a woman. Listen to it below.

Beckley’s own The Kind Thieves have released a single ahead of their upcoming full length album, “Volume III.” The lead single Sad Man tells the story of a man with no place in the world. The haunting lines of the chorus paint a hopeless story for the couple in the song.

Rock outfit Golden has re-recorded their track River City Runaway. The track had only been available in what the band says was a demo version and they wanted to give it a proper release. This pop punk tinged track talks about the self destructive actions that would lead a love to walk away, but in true pop punk fashion the song still makes you happy in spite of its sad narrative. Listen to it now.

Born & Bred Best Pop Artist of 2023 winner, Jeremy Short has released a new track off of his upcoming live album. The song Feelin’ Fine (Live) has not been available up until now and only heard in concert. The track is part of a larger project “Live From Healing Appalachia” to be released later.
From the bands socials “SURPRISE! The first single from our new album “Live from Healing Appalachia” is OUT NOW, & all the funds raised from this project go directly to helping heal our communities via Healing Appalachia.”

Born & Bred Best Rap Artist of 2023 Dinosaur Burps have popped up on another track. This time they and rapper Teddy Faley lend their voices to a track from producer Shape. The track called Multiple Stores discusses the fallout of a life that is caught in the embrace of struggles with alcohol.
