Clarksburg, WV – The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center is excited to announce the return of The Born & Bred Concert Series on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the historic Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center located at 444 W. Pike St. in Clarksburg, WV.
The Born & Bred Concert Series was created by Brendan Gallagher and debuted as a music festival in Grafton, WV. In its new concert series form, The Robinson Grand will be producing multiple shows a year featuring talented musicians and performing artists that have been shaped by the Mountain State. The March 23rd show is the fifth to include radio personality and musician, “Appalachian Soul Man,” Aristotle Jones as the host and the fifth Born & Bred concert series to be held at the Robinson Grand. Jones is also the curator of the concert series, and with his involvement, The Born & Bred Concert Series has elevated into a variety show-type of production with a similar tone to the radio show Jones hosts, Sounds Good to Me with Aristotle Jones.
The 6th edition of The Born & Bred Concert Series at The Robinson Grand features Philip Bowen, Adrian Michael, and Grace Campbell.

Philip Bowen is a massively talented singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist with a sound that uplifts the soul and is inspired by his Appalachian roots. He was a contestant on the recent season of America’s Got Talent where he made it to the live rounds of the show. He has performed at iconic venues like The Bluebird Cafe and 3rd & Lindsley, and even graced the stage of NPR’s Mountain Stage. In May of 2023 he was the featured guest on Us & Them by West Virginia Public Broadcasting where they discussed how the 38-year-old learned classical violin as well as how to improvise on the fiddle, combining musical styles and genres.
Bowen’s music spreads a message of positivity, earning him accolades from Yahoo, PopMatters and Atwood Magazine. The Nashville Songwriters Association International dubbed him “one to watch,” and they were right. His debut album, Old Kanawha, featuring collaborations with Charles Wesley Godwin and Josiah and the Bonnevilles, released to rave reviews on August 18th, 2023.
Adrian Michael is an electrifying artist from Clarksburg WV. Fusing R&B, POP, and Hip Hop to create a beautiful experience for all cultures and all ages. Adrian is sure to spark the emancipation of your mind, body and soul.
Grace Campbell is a singer/songwriter originally from Princeton, West Virginia with a charm all her own. Her impeccable songwriting skills and charismatic personality make a great performance for anyone in her audience.
Grace’s music has been given the designated title of something that “defies genre” by her live performance attendees and followers on social media. Having both years of classical vocal training and an extensive background in performing contemporary music, she brings flavors of jazz, country, pop, funk, and rock to her music all while maintaining the focus of telling the audience a story through her lyrics.
The Born & Bred Concert Series also features pre-show performances throughout the theater to entertain guests as they enjoy a pre-show VIP get together, a performance from the stage as you find your seat, or as you are greeted in the lobby. This edition of the concert series will feature performances from Khegan McLane, John Bennett, and Silas Matheny.
“Our most recent edition of the Born & Bred Concert Series was a rousing success and we are excited to build on that momentum,” – Brendan Gallagher
In addition to the quarterly concert series, Born & Bred Magazine is excited to announce their first ever Music Expo. The Born & Bred Music Expo will feature statewide resources for musicians and those wanting to learn more about the industry. The expo will feature producers, studios, record stores, luthiers, instrument stores, venues and events that will all be of interest to artists in the state. This will occur from 2-6 in the Education Center at The Robinson Grand. To participate email editor@bornandbredmusic.com
