On January 9th The Empty Glass held their weekly Open Mic hosted by Eric Robbins of The Parachute Brigade. The crowd of attendees and performers were witness to a former regular popping in and taking the stage at the Glass. Rising country star and West Virginia native Sierra Ferrell was in town for a show that highlighted the need to protect our waterways on the 10th anniversary of the Elk River disaster. The environmental damage of the crude 4-Methylcyclohexanemethanol spill into the water is still felt in the area and caused a huge disruption in water services in southern portions of the state.

While in town for the concert, Ferrell went by her old stomping grounds and performed during the open mic in front of a handful of people. Last night saw her take the stage in front of millions as she performed on the ABC late night show Jimmy Kimmel Live! Sierra performed wearing one of her infamous eye catching outfits surrounded by her band mates wearing matching uniforms as she performed her hit song Fox Hunt.

We can’t help but feeling that Sierra will be a household name as these opportunities continue to highlight her larger than life talents.
