Sierra Ferrell and some friends are bringing attention to the ongoing fight for clean water. On the tenth anniversary of the Elk River chemical spill, Ferrell, with some help from The Local Honeys, Mill Creek Cronies, Mike Pushkin, Lucia Valentine & Jade Tremba, will present a free concert to bring attention to the ongoing water crisis and the need for more protections for water supplies. Sierra took to her social media to announce the show:

Still, we’re calling for change. 🗓️ On January 9, 2024, in Charleston we’re gathering to reflect on the #2014WaterCrisis and shape a water-secure future. Alabaster Boxer has announced plans to record a live album to follow up their 2023 release Currency Of Dreams. Nick Durm was joined by Brian Bell and Jason Lockart in a video discussing their plans. Of the effort Durm said:

“We’ve kind of grown, and a lot of the songs have changed. So, we thought it would be a really cool idea to kind of capture our authentic selves and give you just what you expect to see.”

The band plans to record the live album on Saturday, February 3, 2024, 8 PM at the Raleigh Playhouse & Theatre located at 403 Neville St. in Beckley, WV. The band has announced multiple ways to support the project including ticket packages that include a vinyl pressing of the album and a t-shirt. Get your tickets here.

Andrew Adkins is recording a live album this Saturday, January 6th at ACE Whitewater. Adkins took to his social media to talk about the sold out show.

On Saturday January 6 I will be recording a live album. with the help of ACE whitewater. We will have a recording studio set up at the lost paddle. We also will be opening up that recording session to the public. Tickets are VERY limited. Please contact me for pricing and availability!”
