SHINNSTON WV: The Shindy Music Festival is this weekend August 11-12 at Ferguson Memorial Park in Shinnston! This free event is open to the public and will feature 20 bands over two days, food trucks. The Shinnston City Pool will be open and access to the city pool costs $5 for kids 12 and under, $6 for adults and $5 for seniors. The city is happy to partner with Music Show Production, headed by famed DJ, Kevin Nicholas, to provide sound and lighting for Shindy. Music starts at 1pm on Friday August 11 and 11am on Saturday August 12. The pool will be open both days 12-8pm!

“Shindy” is the Gaelic word from which we derive shindig; it means a larger raucous party. Event organizers say the name works perfectly for their event, combining the name of the founder of the town, Levi Shin with the word indie = Shindy.
