Never one to shy away from controversy, Brian Cottrill released a new track entitled “Good Cop” featuring world class pianist/organist Davin Seamon

Brian Cottrill wrote the song addressing the issue of fatal incidents involving law enforcement officers that have drawn significant public attention and sparked national discussion.

The song explores themes related to police accountability and suggests that such deaths might be avoidable through stricter internal enforcement of professional standards and reporting protocols among officers, similar to how the law is applied to the general public.

Brian plays guitar, bass and sings the song. Brian’s daughters Hannah and Erica Cottrill perform also, with Hannah on drums and harmony vocals, and Erica on harmony vocals.

This is a pretty heavy subject, and we decided to make a slapstick, Keystone cops style music video starring David MarraBob Workman, and Erica Cottrill. The video was shot in downtown Clarksburg directly behind the police station. I was excited to have Davin Seamon play on the song. He really gave it the character that made the song happen. We had so much fun shooting the music video. It was a blast.” – Brian Cottrill

“Good Cop” was released to all major streaming services and YouTube on Friday, December 5, 2025.
