Princeton, WV – Celebrate Princeton Street Fair returns to the Mercer Street Grassroots District of downtown Princeton on Saturday, June 8th from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.. The event will feature circus performances, live music, a live art mashup with multiple local artists, a “Memories on Mercer Street” tent for story-sharing and reminiscing, and a classic car show. There will be a ferris wheel, waterslides, bounce houses, put put golf, free face painting and crafts, The Foam Garage, and dozens of vendors. Grassroots District merchants will host special activities and sales; Hammer & Stain will offer a special Open Studio Day, Stages Music School will feature student performances at The Fountain Stage, and the day marks the Six Year Anniversary Celebration for Sophisticated Hound Brewing Company. Mercer Street Businesses like Wild Roots Coffeehouse, Hatter’s Bookshop, Blue Ridge Bee Company, Denim & Lace and others will be open, and dozens of local businesses like Shine Time Studios, The Gaia Den and Rainbow Art Farms and organizations like Princeton Historical Society, Community Connections and Oakvale Area Outreach Team will be on hand lining the streets with their vending tents. Organizers encourage photography enthusiasts to get a birds eye view of downtown atop the ferris wheel!

The Town Square stage will be hosted by Doc Atwell. Fluidity Circus Troupe will perform 2 separate shows in front of The Renaissance Theater. They will also entertain on stilts and bubbles, and meet & greet with the audience. Live music performances on 2 stages – Dick Copeland Town Square and The Fountain Stage- include Appalachian Soul Man Aristotle Jones, Strings of Green, James Hart & Old Soul Reunion, Into the Fog, Jon Bolt, and more. Princeton Public Library will feature a variety of creative activities inside the library and outdoors in their parking lot, including a Friends of the Library book sale. Vendors will sell items and services from jumbo pretzels and snow cones to essential oils and massage to fine art, crafts and face painting. Downtown businesses will be open and guests are encouraged to explore and patronize them.

The event is presented by RiffRaff Arts Collective, with support from The City of Princeton, WVU Medicine/Princeton Community Hospital, Princeton Rescue Squad, April Lusk, State Farm Insurance Agent, and USA Martial Arts. The ferris wheel is free to ride, brought to you by Southern Highlands, the Mercer County Commission and The City of Princeton, and the classic car show is produced by A&R Productions. Festival production is provided by LLyniuM entertainment.
