Charles Wesley Godwin never shies away from one thing and that is his love of his home state of West Virginia. And that is evident in his newest release that sees Charles teaming up with award winning film maker Robert Tinnell (Feast of the Seven Fishes) to document his sold out Stage AE performance in Pittsburgh on February 4, 2023.

Godwin discusses the emotions of going from being a young man in the crowd at AE seeing The Avett Brothers and going full circle to performing a sold out show in the same venue. The documentary splices footage of that show in between segments of Charles discussing his love of his state, his family, and his song writing process. The documentary highlights the energy that CWG and his backing band The Allegheny High put into every performance. The only critique we have is that it’s not long enough. But that’s good showmanship. Always leave them wanting more. If you haven’t seen Charles Wesley Godwin live this will do more than enough to wet your appetite and get you to buy those tickets. You can catch CWG and The Allegheny High performing at Healing Appalachia in September.

Check out the documentary below which includes performances of his songs Seneca River, Hardwood Floor, Jesse, Rollin’ In My Sweet Baby Arms, an unreleased track All Again from his forthcoming album and concert closer, his cover of Take Me Home, Country Roads.
