West Virginia is known for a lot of musical talent. However, most outside of the state would probably associate the mountain state with country, bluegrass and folk. The reality is that those artists don’t make up the majority of music being made here and every genre out there has a committed group of musicians making their mark in their respective communities.

That’s is very true in the rap industry where artists continue to be getting attention locally, regionally and nationally. West Virginia has rap artists in every city and holler making music that tells their story. So to do our part in shining a light on this talent, we introduce a new a new playlist for you to check out called Born & Bred Rap. This playlist is not exhaustive as not every artist we found was on Spotify. We will continue to update it as we find more artists and more are submitted to us. To submit your rap music, send an email to editor@bornandbredmusic.com.
